A private university located in St. Louis, Missouri, Central Methodist University offers a number of different degree programs ranging from associate’s degrees to master’s degrees in a wide variety of areas for working adults. Affiliated with the United Methodist Church, Central Methodist University was founded in 1853 by Nathan Scarritt and David Rice McAnally, opening its doors to students for the first time September 18, 1857. It has grown ever since and currently offers a unique melding of both religion and education into effective, engaging programs dedicated to liberal arts. Regardless of its growth and changes, Central Methodist University remains dedicated to providing its students with educations that prepare them for life as well as their future careers.

Central Methodist University is dedicated to preparing its students for the future, which is why they offer a great deal of career assistance through the James C. Denney, Jr. Career Development Center. Here students will benefit from assistance with engaging in the right internships, finding on-campus employment and finding the right job after graduation. Class sizes are relatively small averaging around 17 students and the student to teacher ratio of 15:1 allows students to receive the individualized attention they need. In addition to the excellent education programs, Central Methodist University also has a number of extracurricular programs including athletic teams for both men and women.
